Major James R. Adams Jr.
Biography
Major Adams is a native of St. Petersburg, Florida. He entered the Army in June 1977 following graduation as a Distinguished Military Graduate from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. His career is highlighted by service and leadership in a series of Command and Staff positions in the United States and Europe. His tours of duty have included service with the 4th Infantry Division in Colorado, the 3D Infantry Division and 3D Support Command in Germany, and service with the United Nations Protection Force in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Major Adams has served as the Officer in Charge and Chairperson of the Department of Military Science, Army ROTC, at East Stroudsburg University, East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. He has been privileged to command twice at the company level. He has served on the Training and Doctrine Command staff in the Aviation Division, and as an Assistant Operations Officer on the 3D Infantry Division staff.
Major Adams received his graduate degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern California and is a graduate of the Army Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. He is an Army Aviator, Maintenance Test Pilot, and is Airborne qualified.
His awards and Decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Meritorious Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal.
Major Adams is married to the former Lisa Ditmore from East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.
